Robbin's Essentials
This is the first installment in a new segment on my blog!! Every month I share with you the products that have an Etsy store that I splurged on. They are special because they are handmade and unique. Above is Robbin's Essentials Goat's Milk & Honey Lotion. It smells so friggin good! I got the one that smells like oatmeal cookies. One of the ingredients is "goat milk from our farm". How cute is that?
As soon as I saw these blue velvet bellbottoms from Sinew Moon on sale I had to have them. They are handmade and she has the exact same tiny measurements as me! This will fit perfectly. I know I wanted to buy them also because Sinew Moon is like a sister shop to The Sleepy Jane Show, a perfect model for a crochet store.


I've spread some of the homemade body lotion everywhere on me, free of chemicals and full of essential body oils because I love the smell! I don't remember putting on hand lotion religiously before now. It's a treat while I work on my latest cabled legwarmers. Have something custom made for you by me, Heart of the Healer.

Review: At the Edge of the Orchard

There are authors I'll always grab if I find them sitting on the shelf at the thrift store. Tracy Chevalier stood out like a sword in a stone. I read The Girl with a Pearl Earring years ago and remember fawning over it. In my hands now was her book, "At the Edge of the Orchard" and I knew something good was waiting for me in these pages. Tracey Chevalier is a historical fiction writer. The time period  for this book - 19th century America, I really enjoy reading about, watching movies about, this book was right up my ally - during the time of the Gold Rush, westward expansion, a story about a man and apple seeds. The story goes deeper and roots play a metaphorical purpose in this story - where we decide to uproot ourselves, the people involved in our own family tree, and the way Tracy describes the trees to you, you almost wouldn't believe it. I'm determined to see the Red Woods and Sequoias my self. Her attention to detail makes it to where every scene

  A fun deep dive into this 13 episode anime that's free to watch on Crunchy Roll. If you adore romance that combines the supernatural that touch on darker themes then keep reading for my review.     Our main character, Sakuta, walks into the school library and notices a model/actress dressed as a bunny girl, and only he can see her. Meet Mai who is also a senior in is high school who has Puberty Syndrome:  a term used to describe abnormal experiences during adolescence as a result of sensitivity and instability, this is the magical plot device or supernatural part which also delves into some dark territory.  It doesn't go too deep and tries to explain this phenomenon by quantum physics. Sakuta goes against the grain and doesn't care to fit in at school, where that is a big deal for his little sister, a character that's really important to the story because it's one of the main reasons why he believes in what Mai is going through.
